BIOTROP Courier Vol. 26 No. 4 (Okt - Dec 2025)
KPCD, 2025Description
As the Officer in Charge, it is both an honor and a solemn duty to contribute these remarks to this quarter’s Courier.
This edition carries a weight of reflection and remembrance as we honor the late Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran, former Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP, whose passing on 30 September 2024 marked a profound loss for us all. Dr. Zulhamsyah was not only a visionary leader but also a dedicated advocate for tropical biology and environmental conservation. His relentless passion for research, education, and sustainable development left a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
In line with his enduring legacy, SEAMEO BIOTROP continues to thrive with a range of impactful activities featured in this issue. These include the successful conclusion of the 62nd Governing Board Meeting, the opening of the second batch of the Capstone Internship Program, and groundbreaking projects such as the Agro-Eco-Edu-Tourism prototypes launched in Malaysia. As we move forward, we remain committed to upholding Dr.
Zulhamsyah’s vision by fostering innovation, collaboration, and impactful research. His memory serves as a reminder of the values we must carry in our journey as stewards of tropical biology. Let this edition of Courier not only celebrate our achievements but also reflect on the indelible mark left by Dr. Zulhamsyah—a legacy we will continue to honor in our work every day.
