Abstract:

Database of ectomycorrhizal fungi, especially in Indonesia, is very important to know the status, biodiversity, conservation, ecology, result of some mycorrhizal researches, in turn, this information is important to get a strategies and techniques on application of ectomycorrhizal fungi especially in Indonesia and in Southeast Asian region to increase the growth of some trees species at different environmental condition. The main objective of this research is to establish a database of ectomycorrhizal fungi in Southeast Asian region. The specific objectives of this research are to develop a database model of mycorrhizal fungi in Java and to provide information on mycorrhizal fungi for rehabilitation of critical land in Southeast Asian region. MySQL software was used in this research to establish database on ectomycorrhizal fungi in Java Island. Results of this research found six groups of genus (Sclerodermatales, Amanitales, Boletales, agaricales, Russulales and Cortinariales), six groups of family (Sclerodermataceae, Amanitaceae, Boletaceae, Tricholomataceae, Russulaceae and Cortinariaceae), and twenty four species of ectomycorrhizal fungi. Most of ectomycorrhizal fungi has been identified associate with Shorea sp. Ectomycorrhizal fungi in Java Island is dominated by sub-class of Hymenomycetes, only four species belong to xub-class of Gasteromycetes (Scleroderma clomnare, S. sinnamariense, S. geaster  and  S. dictyosporum). A model of database on ectomycorrhizal fungi was established as the first model in Indonesia.
