BIOTROP DDP Holds Sharing Sessions with SEAMEO Centres in Vietnam

BIOTROP Deputy Director for Program Dr.  Jess C. Fernandez was invited by the Ho Chi Minh City-based SEAMEO Regional Centre for Lifelong Learning (CELLL) and the Regional Training Centre (RETRAC) to hold sharing sessions with their staff on 1 and 2 October2014, respectively.

SEAMEO CELLL requested Dr. Fernandez to share ways on how to develop and align its activities with the SEAMEO Strategic Plan and Special Initiatives.  Dr. Fernandez also reviewed and provided improvements on SEAMEO CELLL’s website and annual report.  He also helped revise the design of SEAMEO CELLL’s first seminar-workshop on Community Learning Center and Life Long Learning to be held on 23-24 November 2014.

With SEAMEO RETRAC, Dr. Fernandez shared his experiences being with SEAMEO SEARCA and BIOTROP on designing and organizing regional research and training activities. SEAMEO RETRAC also solicited his advice on publishing its own journal in education in Southeast Asia. The sharing session also provided the opportunity for Dr. Fernandez to discuss about the seminar workshop on Sharing Best Practices in Training Management among SEAMEO Centres which he has proposed to be conducted in 2015 under the SEAMEO Mentoring Program in collaboration with SEAMEO RETRAC.

Both the sharing sessions were BIOTROP’s contributions to SEAMEO Mentoring Program.
