BIOTROP, Wikrama Bogor Vocational School Sign MoU for ESD Promotion

BIOTROP formalized its partnership with Wikrama Bogor Vocational School to further promote education for sustainable development (ESD) through signing a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on 2 February 2016 at the said School ground.

The MoU aims to enhance the school’s capabilities in further implementing their ESD programs and activities through BIOTROP technologies and services. BIOTROP commits to build the capacities of teachers through training and technical consultations as well as the students through internship.

The School has been a recipient of the Indonesia Green Awards in 2012 and 2014 and the Sekolah Adiwiyata Award in 2012. Through their Climate Change Education Program, the School was invited to present its experiences during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change on 30 November to 12 December 2015 at Paris, France. The School has also been recognized as ASEAN Eco-School Model in 2014 and the United Nations ESD Model School in 2015.

BIOTROP’s Director Dr Irdika Mansur and Wikrama Bogor Vocational School Principal, Ms Iin Mulyani signed the MoU.  The signing ceremony was held back-to-back with the awarding of plaque to the School as first place winner in SEAMEO Song Angklung Contest (Traditional Category).

The Mou signing and awarding ceremony was witnessed by the Head of Yayasan Prawitama which manages the School, BIOTROP board of directors and managers, Head of Bogor Education Department, Head of Sindangsari Village, and Head of East Bogor Sub-District Government.
