BIOTROP, RUA of Cambodia formalize collaboration

BIOTROP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) of Cambodia on 6 November 2017.

The three-year MoU will involve joint collaboration in research, capacity building, and information and staff exchange between BIOTROP and RUA with special focus on forest tree improvement and community-based sustainable production.

As a first collaborative activity, RUA invited BIOTROP to be a partner in the implementation of the 4th AFSA International Conference on Food Safety and Food Security to be held on 10-12 August 2018 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The MoU was signed during the visit of BIOTROP Director Dr Irdika Mansur and Deputy Director for Program Dr Jess Fernandez to RUA as part of their official mission to explore collaboration with relevant institutions in Cambodia. Other institutions they visited included the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, and the Cambodian Agricultural Research and Development Institute.
