BIOTROP Welcomes 3 Indonesian Ambassadors

Three Indonesian Ambassadors to the Republic of Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua; People’s Republic of Bulgaria, Albania, and Macedonia; and Ecuador visited BIOTROP on 4 February 2016. They are HE Budhy Santosa, HE Sri Astari Rasjid, and HE Diennaryati Tjokrosuprihatono, respectively.

This visit was part of their mission to get current information on forestry, agriculture, and livestock research and development from relevant institutions such as BIOTROP that are important inputs to their duties to establish collaborations between Indonesia and the countries where they are posted.

HE Diennaryati shared Ecuador’s great potential in agriculture, forestry and livestock particularly in beef, coffee, guano and rose flower production. HE Sri Astari Rasjid emphasized the importance of having collaborations in education, culture, and agriculture in the countries where she is posted. HE Budhy Santoso underlined the great opportunities to carry out students exchange with Panama.

BIOTROP’s Deputy Director for Resource Management Dr Arief Sabdo Yuwono welcomed the three ambassadors and briefed them about the Centre’s programs and activities. The ambassadors also learned about the Centre’s tissue culture products and laboratory operations from Mr Samsul A. Yani, BIOTROP’s Product Development and Services Department Manager.
