Australia menawarkan hingga 300 jenis beasiswa untuk warga negara Indonesia di Tahun 2009

Pemerintah Australia mengundang warga negara Indonesia mengajukan lamaran untuk turut serta dalam Program "Australian Development Scholarships (ADS)", yang dimulai tahun 2009 hingga 2010. Tersedia hingga 300 jenis beasiswa yang 50% diantaranya diperuntukan bagi wanita dan 30% bagi warga negara dari Indonesia Timur dan Aceh.

The scholarships are managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and provide funding for study at Masters and Doctorate levels in Australia. They are targeted to individuals who are committed to addressing development issues in sustainable growth and economic management; democracy, justice and good governance; investing in people, including in health and education; and safety and peace.

"The Australian Scholarships program is conducted in close partnership with the Indonesian Government. The impact of the program is visible through the thousands of ADS alumni who have returned to Indonesia and to contribute to this country in areas of development priority," Farmer said. The program aims to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia and the fields of study offered are annually reviewed based on the development needs of Indonesia.

ADS is a merit-based scholarship program available to people from the government and non-government sectors who hold an S1 degree.

Candidates are required to meet all eligibility criteria including Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.9 (on a scale of maximum 4.00), minimum IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500 (obtained in 2007 or 2008) and be no more than 42 years of age at the time of application.
