SEAMEO BIOTROP Actively Participates in Covid-19 Vaccination

The beginning of year 2021 is an important milestone of our endeavor in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.  The milestone was started by vaccinating the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.  The moment also marked the massive vaccination efforts for health workers, in all 34 provinces in Indonesia.

SEAMEO BIOTROP as one centre of SEAMEO Centre in Indonesia, under the coordination of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, actively participated in the Covid-19 Vaccination efforts by sending its 121 employees consisted of civil servants, non-civil servants and laboratory technicians to be vaccinated in the Auditorium D of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.  The vaccination activity which was held on 24 March 2021 consisted of 5 stages, i.e., filling out the screening form, registration, health condition screening, vaccination and observation of the vaccination effect.

SEAMEO BIOTROP also participated in prior two-vaccination activities held by IPB University, i.e., on 18 March in the Campus of IPB University in Dramaga and on 22 March 2021 in IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Botani Square, Jalan Pajajaran, Bogor.

The on-site vaccinating physicians that we interviewed explained that the vaccination does not mean that we are free from Covid-19, however, vaccination is an effort to prevent us against Covid-19.  Therefore, it is important for us to stick with health protocols: use maskers, wash hands, keep physical distance, limit mobility and social interaction, as well as avoid crowds.

Stay healthy and safe!
