SEAMEO BIOTROP successfully conducted its Workshop for the Evaluation of the 2024 Program Implementation and Planning for 2025. The event took place at Amanuba Resort and Hotel from 1 - 3 December 2024, with 48 participants, including the management and staff of SEAMEO BIOTROP.
The workshop, which was attended by newly appointed Deputy Directors for Administration and Programs for 2025, Mrs. Ellys and Mr. Doni, featured a series of activities including an outbound session and a work meeting. The goal was to evaluate the programs implemented in 2024 and plan for the upcoming year.
Opening the session, Mrs. Sri Widayanti, Acting Deputy Director for Administration, emphasized that the program planning for the following year should be a collective effort from all staff, not just the management. She also refreshed the vision, mission, and programs of SEAMEO BIOTROP for the incoming deputy directors.
Mrs. Ellys highlighted the importance of aligning the team’s efforts to meet the demand for “low cost, high impact” initiatives, urging staff to be more adaptable, responsive, and coordinated in their roles. Mr. Doni shared his insights on aligning government programs with sustainable bio-resources, circular economy principles, and enhancing program replication.
The workshop also featured a focus group discussion (FGD) on the services of each department within SEAMEO BIOTROP. Various issues were discussed, including financial management, human resource needs, and capacity building.
The session continued with a review of SEAMEO BIOTROP’s outputs and achievements in 2024, followed by discussions on program activities for 2025. The discussions were moderated by Mr. Slamet Widodo, Acting Manager of the Science Innovation Technology Department (SITD).
On the final day, 3 December 2024, Mrs. Yuni Yuniati from FAO Indonesia presented the strategic framework of FAO Indonesia’s programs, outlining potential partnerships with SEAMEO BIOTROP for future collaboration.
