Bandung, 26 August 2024 – SEAMEO BIOTROP delegations visits Faculty of Agriculture's Agrotechnology Education Program and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Biology Education Program at Universitas Padjajaran on August 26-27, 2024. The visit aimed to introduce and socialize the capstone internship program offered by SEAMEO BIOTROP to students at both faculties.
“Thank you to SEAMEO BIOTROP for introducing the internship topics to us. In the previous batch, fortunately, BIOTROP accepted some of our students. This is a very good opportunity for the students,” said Dr. Amir, the Head of the Agrotechnology Study Program. The event began with a presentation on various available internship topics, accompanied by the distribution of informative flyers. This capstone internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience in research and practical applications in tropical biology, offering students the opportunity to contribute to projects with significant impact on the environment and society.
During the visit, SEAMEO BIOTROP was enthusiastically welcomed by Dr. Muhammad Amir Solihin, the Head of the Agrotechnology Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, along with student representatives who showed great interest in the program. Productive discussions at the faculty focused on how this internship program could complement their academic curriculum and provide practical insights for the students' future careers.
At the FMIPA Faculty, SEAMEO BIOTROP was received by Dr. Budi Irawan, M.Si, the Head of the Biology Program, and student representatives who participated in an in-depth Q&A session. The explanation of relevant internship topics and available research opportunities captured the attention of many participants, indicating potential for beneficial future collaborations.
SEAMEO BIOTROP’s presence was warmly welcomed by faculty members and staff at both faculties. They expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the internship program and hoped to expand academic and research relationships with SEAMEO BIOTROP. Faculty and staff also noted that the capstone internship program would provide students with valuable experience that could enhance their skills and readiness for the professional world.
This visit represents a strategic step in strengthening the partnership between SEAMEO BIOTROP and Universitas Padjajaran and supporting academic and research capacity development in Indonesia. Both faculties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement in human resource development through internships. It is hoped that through this internship program, students will gain practical skills and knowledge that will enrich their academic and professional journeys.
