SEAMEO BIOTROP held an Inhouse Training (IHT) on Publication: Developing Article Writing Skills and Visual Branding on Social Media on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the Jati Room at SEAMEO BIOTROP. The event ran from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM WIB, and was attended by Mmanager, public relation task force of SEAMEO BIOTROP, and representatives from the department and units of SEAMEO BIOTROP. The resource person is Mr. Danasmoro Brahmantyo from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia (KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK).
This training aimed to enhance participants' skills in writing effective articles and building strong visual branding on social media. Through this training, participants were expected to master good writing techniques and understand relevant visual branding principles, thereby supporting more professional and strategic publication and promotion efforts for the institution. The event also aimed to strengthen SEAMEO BIOTROP's internal capacity in delivering information to the public in a more engaging and impactful way.
"Enhancing the exposure of SEAMEO BIOTROP's activities is crucial for reaching different segments within various institutions. As a research, capacity-building, and information dissemination organization, we have a duty to provide information that enhances understanding of tropical biology. This event is expected to motivate all units to become contributors and content creators, whether in the form of articles or videos," he stated.
Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran emphasized the importance of expanding SEAMEO BIOTROP's outreach to reach diverse audiences. He expressed hope that this training would encourage each unit to actively create and share content, such as articles and videos, to enhance understanding of tropical biology.
The training focused on improving SEAMEO BIOTROP staff's skills in article writing and developing visual branding on social media. It included in-depth sessions on effective article writing techniques and visual branding strategies.
Mr Danasmoro Brahmantyo, stated that effective public communication requires establishing a main narrative and implementing a well-thought-out strategy, including research, planning, and evaluation. He also stressed the importance of consistency in strategies and tactics to minimize risks and ensure successful public communication.
